Conquering the Swiss Alps: A 5-Day Adventure
The alarm buzzed at 4:30 AM. Outside, the first hints of dawn painted the sky in shades of pink and orange. This was it - the start of my long-planned Alpine adventure.
Day 1: Into the Mountains
Starting from Zurich, I headed south toward the Gotthard Pass. The morning air was crisp, perfect riding weather. As I gained elevation, the temperature dropped but my excitement only grew.
The Gotthard is one of those legendary passes that every adventure rider dreams about. Hairpin after hairpin, each turn revealing more spectacular scenery than the last.
Day 2: The Furka Pass
If you have ever seen a James Bond film, you know this road. The Furka Pass is pure two-wheeled poetry. I stopped at the Rhone Glacier viewpoint, still partly covered in protective sheets to slow its melting.
Day 3: Stelvio - The Crown Jewel
Crossing into Italy, I tackled the mighty Stelvio Pass with its 48 numbered hairpins. This is where preparation meets execution. The KTM handled beautifully, dancing through each switchback.
Day 4: San Bernardino Return
Heading back toward Switzerland via the San Bernardino, I reflected on the journey. Three countries, countless passes, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Day 5: Rolling Home
The final day was bittersweet. Every kilometer closer to home meant one less on this incredible adventure. But as every rider knows - the road is always calling.
